ABOUT SOLVENCY STUDIO

I don’t just see how businesses operate.
I see how they could operate better.

I’m Stella Lawson, founder of Solvency Studio. I look for repeated work, missing information, and unnecessary steps that cost businesses time and money. Then I help build a clearer way to get the work done.

Curiosity is where it started.

As a child, I took apart electronics to understand what made them work. That same curiosity shapes how I approach a business today: Why does this process exist? What is it costing? Could it work better?

My firsthand experience across operations, finance, and administration taught me what disconnected systems cost in everyday work: duplicate entry, delayed approvals, scattered records, and time spent chasing answers. I founded Solvency Studio to help solve those practical problems.

Understand first. Automate second.

I look at the people, steps, information, and controls behind a process. Then I simplify what needs to change before deciding what to automate.

Better operations, built to grow.

Thoughtful solutions can reduce unnecessary costs and manual work, improve accuracy and visibility, and help operations scale. Clear approvals, records, and responsibilities strengthen internal controls and support compliance and accountability.

Experience, with context.

I bring the perspective of someone who has worked through these challenges and built systems to address them.

Prior professional experience

These examples describe Stella’s previous professional work, not Solvency Studio client engagements.

Nonprofit Program Operations

Automated Time & Activity Tracking

Challenge: Manual spreadsheets made it hard to track hours, allocate costs, and prepare grant reports.

Solution: Built a Power Apps solution with built-in validation and automated workflows to simplify month-end consolidation.

Process: Added validation and created a more consistent month-end consolidation process.

Housing Assistance Program

Rent Verification & Disbursement

Challenge: Rent reimbursements were managed through manual tracking, with delays and missing documentation complicating the process.

Solution: Developed a Power App with approval routing, timestamps, and a Pay / Do Not Pay workflow, plus automated alerts for missing documentation.

Process: Created clearer controls for missing documentation, approvals, and payment decisions.

Grant-Funded Programs

Reporting & Invoice Consolidation

Challenge: Multiple programs, data sources, and manual processes required significant monthly consolidation and made the process difficult to standardize.

Solution: Created Power Query workflows to transform and consolidate data, automated invoice exports, and streamlined submission to bill.com.

Process: Established a repeatable workflow for consolidating program data and preparing invoice exports.

These are examples of what a solution can do. I choose the tools around your process and connect existing business systems through custom integrations where needed.

Every business has processes.

Some are efficient. Some are outdated. Some exist simply because nobody has stopped to ask whether there’s a better way. I’m the person who asks.
